I wrote my experience of erasmus for a newspaper of Portugal.
Praia da Barra directly to Vilnius
My name is John Neves, better known as Jones, a student of IPAM Aveiro, completing the degree, then decided this last year come from Erasmus to Lithuania, the backpack back.
If they ask why Lithuania? It is not easy to answer, probably because it is a country which had never heard much, is a country in central Europe and surrounded the return of other countries that are very interesting, which makes it easier to do some traveling to other countries such as, Latvia, Estonia, Sweden, Poland and others.
Could have chosen another title to describe my adventure, for example, \"Directly from 30 degrees positive to 20 negative cranes.\"
Vilnius is the capital of Lithuania, a city well developed in all aspects, which left me stunned because I thought the opposite, all trade is expensive, I can say that it is practically equal to the trade of Portugal, but the difference is in the orderly minimum, while in Portugal is 400euros here is 150EUR, now see the difference.
The culture is totally different, which in the beginning was not easy or not easy. I am residing in a very cozy apartment and live with a Madeira and two Swiss, with completely different personalities between the two which causes us to have a positive connection in all respects.
Now I quote a few points very positive residents here in Lithuania, such as the harmony of the city covered with snow, looks provocative people, in this country because people are perfect, a natural blonde eyes clear as never seen and that the birth rate of females is higher than the males, which sometimes leaves the \"Pernitas\" shaking and of course, recognize that we are just Latinos, which is nice, not to say \"amazing.\"
The night starts early, at four o\'clock because it is already night, with parties with an unbelievable atmosphere impossible to describe, but in all cases a very good environment and social. Probably this is due to the past, due to being a country that was highly affected by war, living in bunkers, and now became the \"Texas\", there is no bias in any aspect, now imagine ...
I thought it would come down here and everything was cheap, that the university was super handy, but I was wrong ... The university is very rigid which only communicates in English and there are performances every week. The Lithuanian is a very difficult language to learn because it is a mixture of Russian with other languages, which is impossible to speak too.
I would love to continue to describe my travels, all situations that have happened in 3meses because I have visited many cities and had moments I\'ll never forget because they are unique.
So leave a message here for all students who have a chance of making erasmus, hurry up, because they start to see life differently, where you create friendships forever and of course learn a lot in all respects.

Meu nome é João Neves, mais conhecido por Joné, aluno do IPAM de Aveiro, prestes a concluir a licenciatura, decidi então neste último ano vir de Erasmus para a Lituânia, de mochila as costas.
Se perguntarem porquê a Lituânia? Não é fácil responder, provavelmente por ser um pais do qual nunca tinha ouvido falar muito, é um pais central na Europa e rodeado a volta de outros países bastante interessantes, do qual facilita fazer algumas viagens para outros países tais como; Letónia, Estónia, Suécia, Polónia entre outros.
Poderia ter escolhido outro titulo para descrever a minha aventura, como por exemplo; “Directamente dos 30º graus positivos para os 20º gruas negativos”.
Vilnius é a capital da Lituânia, uma cidade muito desenvolvida em todos os aspectos, o que me deixou estupefacto, pois pensei o oposto, todo o comercio é caro, poderei dizer que é praticamente igual ao comercio de Portugal, mas a diferença está no ordenado mínimo, enquanto que em Portugal é 400euros aqui é 150euros, agora vejam a diferença.
A cultura é totalmente diferente, o que de inicio não foi fácil ou nada fácil. Estou a residir num apartamento bastante acolhedor e a viver com um madeirense e dois suíços, com personalidades completamente diferentes entre ambos o que faz com que tenhamos uma ligação positiva em todos os aspectos.
Agora passo a citar alguns pontos bastante positivos residentes aqui na Lituânia, como é o caso da harmonia da cidade coberta de neve, os olhares provocantes das pessoas, pois neste pais as pessoas são perfeitas, um loiro natural uns olhos claros como nunca visto e em que a taxa de natalidade do sexo feminino é superior ao sexo masculino, o que por vezes deixa a “pernita” a tremer e claro, reconhecem logo que somos latinos, o que é agradável, para não dizer “amazing”.
A noite começa muito cedo, pois ás quatro da tarde já é de noite, com festas inacreditáveis com um ambiente impossível de descrever, mas em todos os casos um ambiente bastante bom e social. Provavelmente isto deve-se ao passado, devido a ser um pais que foi bastante afectado pela guerra, em que viviam em bunkers, e agora virou o “Texas”, não há preconceitos em nenhuma aspecto, agora imaginem...
Pensei que viesse para aqui e que tudo era barato, que a universidade era super acessível, mas enganei-me... A universidade é super rígida onde só se comunica em inglês e há apresentações todas as semanas. O lituano é uma língua muito difícil de aprender porque é uma mistura de russo com outras línguas, o que é impossível de saber falar muito.
Gostaria muito de continuar a descrever as minhas viagens, todas as situações que já aconteceram em 3meses, pois já visitei muitas cidades e tive momentos em que nunca irei esquecer, pois são únicos.
Por isso deixo aqui uma mensagem para todos os alunos que tiverem hipótese de fazer erasmus, não percam tempo, pois começam a ver a vida de outra maneira, onde se criam amizades para sempre e claro aprende se muito em todos os aspectos.

Hi:) It was really nice to read your comment about Lithuania, glad you liked it. Just one corrrection.. our language is not a mixture of Russian and other languages. Is an old language,one of the separate branches of Indo-european family, called Baltic languages (http://www.lituanus.org/1982_1/82_1_01.htm). Yes, it is difficult language, but hardly has anything similar with Russian (maybe except swearing:)). It\'s like you would say that Portuguese is the same Spanish, just with a strange accent. I guess you see the point...:)
Just a thing about your experience that i don\'t really understand: \"The university is very rigid which only communicates in English and there are performances every week. \" Where you prefering/expecting to be in another Language ? I guess it\'s the best you could have, no? #PT: Só uma coisa sobre a tua experiencia que eu não percebi, de todo: \"A universidade é super rígida onde só se comunica em inglês e há apresentações todas as semanas. \" Estavas à espera/preferias que fosse noutra Lingua? Eu acho que era o melhor que poderias ter, não?
