NEVER rent this flat: Menendez pelayo7,3A,Huelva-the landlords screw the erasmus students and cheat them with the rent!!!!!!!!#huelva
I was in Huelva for 1 semester from September 2010 till February 2011. We rented this apartment with 3 other girls, we signed the contract with the agreement that we can go anytime we want and dont need to pay additional month fees. At the beginning the old landlords were very nice...then the problems began. The flat was like a paper house of cards...everything falling apart...and the money they took from us 2 month rent for keeping it as a safety and if sth breaks or sth they pay the damage from it, this was also part of the contract, nothing unusual. They paid every little thing from it, the flat strated to break apart...the bed, the kitchen, the electricty, the wall in the bathroom, the water, the heater of the boiler...etc etc
So our contract was till end of February, we did put the date 28th of February as an end cause we didnt know when we gonna move out and go home, they said if we leave earlier no problem, of course we dont have to pay the rent.
hahaha....WHAT A LIE....3rd of february came and we wanted to move out....nooo the contract is till end of february, we have to pay the whole month, even we move out and go home to our countries. They agreed if sb moves in they give us the money back, which was 140 euroes each of us, so 4x 140=560 euros...quiet much money.
One of us, my roommate, stayed for 1 more semester there, so we agreed with the landlords, that if new people move in they give the money to her.
We waiter 2 month, now she got today the money back. Instead of 560, only 280...nobody knows the reason why we didnt get the other half back....:OOO...and there are already new people living in that flat, moved in and paid the rent for february....
Is there any fairness...I hope the Universities, UHU, International Office will help me solve this situation.
I just wanted to share this information, so u know....ooo and one good advice, if u rent a flat on ur erasmus stay, always put less month, if u dont know for sure that u stay 4 month, just put 3 month in the contract, its always easy to say yes i stay 1 more month...then cutting the contract and saying no i dont pay...what is of course not possible, because the landlord at the beginning takes the 1 or 2 month deposit.
Good luck for future erasmus students.
I hope this info helped to learn from our mistakes.
