The Boekentoren, literally "book tower" is part of the central university library. It's designed by Henri van de Velde and has a very nice though rundown belvedere that offers a beautiful view over the city. The tower itself houses around 3 million books. It's in a rather rough state at the moment, but a large scale renovation project is coming up.
