Hey guys, me and my friend are coming to Gent in September and we are looking for 2 rooms in Gent (or a room with two beds)! If anyone has any information that would be helpful, please let me know! :)

Hello!
I am a Spanish student going to Ghent next semester (Sep-Feb).
I rented an apartment with two rooms in the heart of Ghent. The address is Heilige-Geeststraat, 1. ( http://g.co/maps/m8wtb ) It´s very close to everything!
I´ll take the single room, but the double room (very large and with two beds) is free. In the pictures below, beds are together, but they are singles.
The double room is available from 1 September. Minimum stay 5 months (until February 1 at least).
Monthly rent per person 300 € (all expenses included).
The owner requires a deposit of 850 € per person. The deposit is returned when you leave the apartment.
Ideal for Erasmus students. Preferably non-Spanish people.

You can contact with me on FaceBook (Luis Alberto Horche) for more information!

Hey Luis, thanks but I think that 600 euro is too expensive for one shared room :( I usually saw rooms like that for about 400 euro. oh and that deposit which I really can't afford :/ But thank you!

Hi,

I know, the deposit is veeeeeery high but the owner claims it so... :-(

The room actually cost 450€ per month, but without expenses (gas, electricity, water...). This expenses are around 75€ per person (gas is really expensive).

Well, look for something better but take care about expenses because a lot of people say a lower price to get a host but later you must pay more...

Anyway, nice to met you. I hope see you in Ghent!

Hi Katrin

Rooms in Gent can be expensive, it al depends were you are located. Single room vary from 200-350 euro , while double rooms can be easily 450-750 euro. On following sites you can search for accomodations.

In Ghent it is normal that owners ask for deposits 1-3 times the rent.
It is really important to look if there are hidden costs. Some owners ask money for water, elektricity and internet seperatly, others include it in the price. (All-in formula)

Stuying in Ghent is a very popular, especially for the Belgian students, that's why a lot of people want to rent an accomodation here. This causes prices to go up. So if I can give you some advice, don't wait too long.

In any case, I hope I helped you a bit. Succes in finding a room and goodluck with your studies :)

Greetings

Thomas

Hi!

I am offering a room for € 400. How long do you need it for? You can easily share it with two and I can make sure there are two beds and to desks to work on.

Regards,

Annabell
