Deciding whether to live in Cerdanyola Del Valles or Barcelona Central. Any Suggestions?

Hi, 

I'm coming to Barcelona soon with my girlfriend. She'll study at UAB Bellaterra and I'll study Spanish in the city and work online. 

We're trying to decide whether to live on the campus or find a house in central Barcelona. Has anyone lived at the Bellaterra campus? And if so, is it a good place to live?

Are there good cafes and restaurants, cool places to hang out in nature, or interesting streets to explore... or anything else that makes Cerdanyola Del Valles a cool area to live? And is the campus a cool place to live? 

Any suggestions, or hearing your experiences, would be much appreciated.

Hi Greg!

In February I go to Barcelona to study and I'm looking for student housing too. If you go with your girlfriend, I recommend that you should choose Barcelona. You go to another country and another city to live with the person you love, so I think it is best to live in the city because you will have more options for fun, activities, walks. Cerdanyola is a town 50 minutes by train from the center of Barcelona. The last train back to Cerdanyola is at 10 in the evening, would not you like to walk, have dinner or party with your girlfriend without having to think about the time to go back to a village? I think you should not hesitate. Living in Barcelona, is the best option.
