To live in Riga is not expensive. In fact the prices of the products are pretty low. Even good quality cloths from big brands can be found at outlet prices.
Renting a flat with a kitchen within its a huge plus on keeping your staying under a low budget and not lowering quality on your life.
Universities also allow people to have full meals for an extremelly low price.
The RIMI supermarket chain is the best for your monthly budget. DROGAS its another.
Public transports are also very good and unexpensive. The tickets can be bought on any Narvesen store and there are hundreds spread within the city.  People use to travel a lot by bycicle  and some flats have it available free of charge or for a small fee.
Riga its the place to be for a great ERASMUS experience with a low budget.
