Don't worry about It Marta. In University of Vaasa the person who takes care of Erasmus people is Juuli Savola. If we want to sign up to this course we have to do It in a paper that she'll put at her office door, ergo, we'll do It when we are in Vaasa. If you want to ask her about It, her e-mails:

I'm from Santiago de Compostela, Spain and I'm going to Vaasa next academic year!! I'm studying Education at Abo Akademi University. Nice to meet all of you :)
But I don´t know whether study Finnish or Swedish because 25% of the population speaks Swedish...

you mean, you want to study Finnish language in Vaasa? is it a Finnish course at university or in a private school?

I have the same doubt Violeta. The problem is Finnish is spoken by 5 million people but Swedish is spoken by 10 million people and it´s intelligible with Norwegian and Danish. I was searching for the languages courses offered at Vaasan Yliopisto (my future university) and they are focused in Finnish language, and there´s only a course of Survival Swedish.

yeah, I have a friend who is from Finland and he told me there are a lot of Swedish students in Vaasa too. But I prefer to learn just english! I hope Finnish or Swedish aren't important :)

I think it isn't important to learn Finish neither Swedish but they'll appreciate your effort if you try. We're Erasmus students, we're only supposed to know English.
My university offers both languages and the Vaasa Summer University together with Vaasa Consortium of Higher Education organize intensive summer courses in Finnish and Swedish for all of us... in August XD
