Amongst my cities I visited when I went to russia there was also Kaliningrad http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kaliningrad . Its a beatiful city with interesting people.
My friend who worked as a contractor at http://www.myhammer.com/ really gave me good advice on cities ;) so if you have somebody from russia you should talk to that person before you make a trip there
