Hello!! I am from Galicia, in Spain, and I am going to study in the Zurich ZHAW University. In my case, I will live in Winterthur, will you too? It would be interesting to share a house or a flat with other students, because as Marion says, living alone is quite expensive! :/
I will study there for the whole year , and my degree is Translation. What about you?
Thank you for your time!
See you! =)

You two are right, live alone it's quite expensive, about 3.100€ - 6 months. This is the cheapest i found (I didn't take a long time searching). I think the best way to find a good choice is to visit and check face to face in the city buildings (not by a photo)...the prices and know the room you are going to life for a hole year. To share can be a really problematic idea, so... luck will take an important place in this decision.
I'm going to study Architecture.
Keep in touch!

Hie!
Im going to be there as a vet student, the hole year too! sharing a house may be a good idea, but as Dany says, it s all about luck :) I would like to live in zurich, Winterthur is about 15km away... Does anybody know if the university provides erasmus students with rooms?
See you!
DANY ARES Écrit il y a 12 ans
I don't think they are gonna give us a room, probably they will give us a list of residences that admit students, i think that this could be possible. Another way could be... ask someone in our actual university that has made the erasmus in Zurich o Winterthur, if not we could ask the one is responsable of us in the erasmus trip.
Did you take a look to the average rooms how much do they cost in zurich and winterthur? I'm thinking to go to zurich/Winterthur on summer and visit as much residence/houses i can, so i could take a personal opinion about wich one i think it's the best for me.
Let's see... I think that i'm gonna take a personal room in a residence so i don't have to worry if something desapears, the room it's a caos because the other one doesen't do anything, he is not very sociable, ...
Do you two knows german? I only know spanish and english, in summer i will study a little bit of german to feel comfortable once i'm arrive there and i need help.
See u2!

The 11th there is one of the biggest music events, Street Parade!

- How much does it cost a month in zurich?
- Does anybody nows an interesting webpage for students in zurich?

hi!
i'm an italian vet student and i'm going to study in zurich next year!
i'm a little bit worried because of the prices of the rooms in zurich....i read that maybe it should be more convenient to take an apartment
near the city, and not in the centre...but i think that we won't spend less then 400-500 euros/month..
anyway...i don't know anything about the language! i listened that they organize some courses before the semester, in september! i think i'll partecipate becouse i know only english and latin! do you think it's enough or it's better if i buy some grammar book? or things like this?
for the room i was watching in internet if there are offers...but do you think it's better to go there personally?
bye!!!

Hello Anna!
I'm going to study in zurich next year also.
The rooms are very expensive, it's the most expensive city in the world, so 400-500 you have to know it's cheap.
I don't know german too, here in barcelona i'm going to study a whole month in a academy of german. ZHAW i think its gives german classes, but i don't know when.
I think that you will have to do an interview with once there, i have a friend that he has done 20 interviews before he choose the apartment.
bye!!

hi dany!
i asked some questions to the university of zurich, they said that there are some courses and that usually they are free for us, they begin at the beginning of september, and they will last until the lessons begin!
i think i'll go to zurich in car, because i've an house at 3 hours from the city! i would never imagined that it was so near to me! do you go in aereoplane? how much does it cost a flight to zurich?
Anna ^^

Hello,
Ok! that will be very helpfull for me, to know and refresh some german. I don't know if i could go to this course, because my idea is to move to Zurich one i payed the month. If i payed since the 1st of september i'll go to this course, if i payed since 15 September...i can't go. It depends on my apartment, flat, room, residential,... does someone know the name of a residential for students? or a webpage for flats, rooms, apartments...?
My idea is to come to Barcelona once a month, the flight with vueling it's very cheap if you catch it in time, 50€ go and 50€ return. 3 Hours? where are you from?
anna baldan Écrit il y a 12 ans
i saw that in WGzimmer there a lot of offers..i live in padova, but i have an house near Trento...that's more northern!

However I am also a bit anxious cause as I understand, it is a very expensive city and with not a large number of rooms available.. Have you found somewhere to stay?? I would like also to share a flat with another erasmus student.
It would be great to meet you all in Zurich!!!!
