Living in Sassari

Hey,

I would be visiting Università di Sassari for 2 months (May - July 2012) as a student intern from India. I want to know the logistics about expenditure related to food, home rent, etc. I have a fixed budget and wanted to know how much minimum amount would be required for living there for 2 months. 

If you could reply asap it would be of great help :)

hey, i'm a student who lives in Sassari right now...you can rent rooms for something about 200€ + all the expenditure...i guess with 300€ you can find good places!
Food it depends...the canteen cost less than 3.5 euro each time and the food it's quite good! But if you want to cook on your own you can save money in big supermarket like carrefour or auchan!

 Hi Daksha Y! I'm a student too and I live in Sassari! I know that you can find rooms for 180-200, without expenditure...but in general you can spend max 250 only for the location! As Pino says, the canteen cost max 3,10 for each meal, there are two canteens, and they are both really good! Supermarkets in the city centre are a little more expensive than the big ones like Eurospin or Lidl or carrefour, they aren't in the city centre, but you can reach them easly by bus in few minutes! Hey Guys

Thanks for replying. I asked a student living there about the same. She said in all it would cost atleast 700 per month for expenditure (for everything). Is the amount correct ?

Yes it's true, I think that you can spand max 700.....not more! I live with my parents, but my boyfriend lives alone, and he spend 240 each month for location+espenditure and 250-300 for food and night life :P 
Otherwise, if you are going to study at the università di architettura di sassari, it has its pole in Alghero, that is 40 minuts from Sassari.....so I think you should ask for rent rooms there, not in Sassari! Alghero is a university city in winter and a city for holydays in summer! :)

Alghero is a little more expensive, the cost for food are more or less the same, but you will find lot of problem in finding a flat in alghero, cuz you're arriving during the summer period and alghero is a touristic city...you have to consider also that alghero during summer period become reallt expensive expecially for house renting.
