Czechs vs. Expats Football Tournament

Hello.

Me and a group Czech friends are organizing a football (soccer) tournament called "Czechs vs. Expats". We see this as a good chance to participate in a multicultural sport event, have fun and share with locals and expats a common interest... and of course lots of beers at the end!

The basic structure would like this: 4 teams in each group; total of 8 teams with a minimum of 5 and a maximum of 8 players; elimination round and a final match with the winners of each group. It would be for about 6 hours at a football pit in central Prague around mid November.

The idea is still in development, but we need to start getting a feeling from the Expats community. If you have an interest and want more information, please post it together with your questions or contact me. We hope to have a complete program later next week and post it.

Football-5 Tournament Czechs vs Expats is ON! Saturday, November 17, at the Gutovka sports complex.

This is a multicultural / sport event where Czechs and Expats participate together. We envision this initiative to be a good opportunity for everyone to interact and share common interests in a friendly and healthy competitive environment.

Teams registration is now open and until November 4th. Cost per team is 500kč. A total of 8 teams will be invited to participate. Czech and Expat groups will count with 4 teams each, go through an elimination round separately, and face off in the final. The event will feature prizes for the winners and a post-event gathering at the local pub.

After successful registration, participants will be eligible to post their team photo and a brief profile in the home page prior to the event for all their friends to see!
