Hi everyone, 

My name is Darina, I'll be visiting Oviedo for one year beginning in September 2013. 

Can anyone tell me when I should be arriving there? 
I understood that the semester starts on September 15th ... but the enrolling deadline seems to be on 30th of August. Do I, as as ERASMUS student have to be there before August 30th or will Septemer 15th be sufficient? 

Can someone please help me? It's time to book a flight and everything

Hey Darina,

I am too going to Oviedo next semester and I'm asking myself the same thing. I just wonder how you know that its the 15th that the semester starts? As far as I understood it reading the plan (calendario académico 2013/14) it would be the 8th? Nevertheless, I think there's probably (at least last year there was sth like that) gonna be some kind of a welcome week for erasmus students which I think takes place before. Maybe it'd be better to write them an email, so you can be sure. If you know anything, would be nice if you'd let me know :)

Hey girls (and probably boys later on). My name is Sara and I'm currently a student in the university of Oviedo. Although next year I will be on my Erasmus year too, I think it could be useful to you to have someone here to ask anything you need to know.

Yes, there is: relinmilan /at/ uniovi.es. This is for the Faculty of Filosofía y Letras (also called 'Campus del Milán').

I can answer you that! usually the welcome week is the first week of september, or at least that's what I did with ESN last year!!

Hi Alyssa. There are lots of ads in faculties' bulletin boards to look at once you arrive here. If you wanna have a look before that, there are many web sites where you can find the perfect accomodation for you and many more).

You must be aware of what campus are you studying in, since not every faculty is in the same campus and they are far from each other.

Hi Georgi. I'm not 100% sure of it, but I think you must send everything before June 30th if you're coming for the first semester (or the whole year), and November 20th in case you'll come for the second semester.

Do you think it will be easy to find accomodation if I arrive on the 24th of August or should I look for a room over the internet?

Hi Alyssa. If you'll arrive on August 24th, maybe you must look for a hotel or B&B in advance for that last week in August. Anyway there's a huge offer for accomodation in shared apartments in the bulletin boards of your faculty. As many of the apartments are offered by the owners (and don't depend on any estate agency), maybe you can reach an agreement with your landlord and stay there since your arrival.

Hi Sara!

I'm Pat from the Philippines and I will be going to the University of Oviedo as well. I am planning to live with two other friends and rent an apartment. However, we are at two different campuses. They will be at the del Milan campus, while I at Gijon. Do you know how long the bus or train rides take from Oviedo and Gijon? Are you also aware of the CTA bus service?
