Hi, everyone, I hope that you are doing well.
My friends and I will be participating in an Erasmus program in Poland, and we would like to know some things about this country, if you can help us, it would be great.
First of all, we would like to know the clothes that we have to wear, how is the weather over there?
Also we would like to know about the food, because of a friend is allergic to some food. Is it easy to find vegetarian restaurants for instance? What's the traditional dish there? And about the culture: we would like to know if people greet each other with a handshake? Is blowing your nose in public a lack of respect, for example?
And the last question, what is the currency there?
Thank you for your time.
Kisses,
Fly team

Hello Noemi!
The weather in Poland is really changable. It depends on the season. In summer it is 20-30 degrees of Celsius, but winters are cold and often the temperature is below zero. So you should take light clothes, as well as jacket, blouse, sweater, etc.
There is a wide selection of dishes here. It's no problem with vegetarian food. In Krakow there are a lot of nice restaurants, especially in city center and district called "Kazimierz". There are also foreign cuisines. The most popular traditional dishes are dumplings (in Poland called "pierogi"), pork chop, sour cabbage with pieces of meat.
People greet by handshake mostly. Blowing your nose - it's better to do it quiet - it is more polite.
Currency in Poland is Polish Zloty (PLN).
If you have some more questions, let me know, I will try to help you :)
Best regards,
Mateusz

Hi! I'm Carol,
I'll be studying Computer Science in the Politechnika Krakowska in the first semester of the year 2020/21, if this Coronavirus situation gets better.
I'm coming from Spain, I guess it will be much cooler there in Krakow, so I'll try to buy some warm clothes before going there. Idk if this page it is used by people from all around the world, but I'd love to make new friends, preferrable not Spanish so I can practice my English.
Also, I read that the LGBT situation in Poland in general is a bit tense, idk how you live it inside, but that's what it is said in the International media. I'm bisexual so I hope that in Krakow with all the students living there is a bit more liberal...
Can't wait to go there and live new experiencies.
Carol

Hello, my name is Inel Shalabayev. I am from Kazakhstan. I am an Erasmus Mundus student who is studying European Politics at Jagiellonian University for the second semester (From 20th February until 20th June). I have found a flat with 5 separate bedrooms at Smolensk 22 street (it is located right in the center of the city). Currently, only two bedrooms are taken. There are three more bedrooms left. The monthly price for each bedroom is around 1500 pln (330 euro).
I am an open-minded person who will be happy to meet people from all over the world. If you are interested, feel free to message me.

Je suis un français qui va participer au programme Erasmus dans la ville de Cracovie pour le semestre d'été.
Si il y a une personne qui fait pareil au sein de l'université de JAGELLON, on peut entrer en contact pour une probable cohabitation ?:D
Merci,
