Of course if you’ve made the decision to come to Nottingham, you are going to need somewhere to live. This might sound daunting but you don’t need to panic! There are plenty of student housing and accommodation in Nottingham (studios, flats and houses) and there is always the option of student halls which being affiliated with the University, are always safe and secure. Being a vibrant student city, there are plenty of options available.

Where to stay will depend on which University you are studying at, as well as the campus you are based on. The city centre is always a popular choice if you want to be in the centre of everything going on but this is by no means your only option.

Clifton Campus (Nottingham Trent University)

Students based at Clifton campus often live either on site in Clifton, in West Bridgeford or any of the central areas (the city centre, Hockley, the Lace Market, etc. ). It is important to check that you able to easily get to campus from where you are staying, as you will be required to catch public transport in order to get to university. There are students halls on site, as well as mature student accommodation.

City Campus (Nottingham Trent University)

Of course most students studying in the city also live in the city. There are several areas within walking distance but you are by no means confined to the central areas. If you would prefer to live further out, this is possible with public transport. Just make sure that your campus is easily accessible from where you want to live.

Brackenhurst Campus (Nottingham Trent University)

Known for being a peaceful and quiet campus, it is a bit further out of the city centre. However if you want the best of both worlds, it is entirely possible to live centrally; being well connected and less than thirty minutes away from the city centre. There are also student halls on site.

University Park Campus (University of Nottingham)

Living in the city centre is possible as this campus is just two miles away. Lenton and Beeston are also popular options and there are twelve university halls onsite - both catered and self catered.

Jubilee Campus (University of Nottingham)

Students can live in the city centre as it is connected with several bus lines. As with the University Park Campus, Lenton and Beeston are popular options. It is just one mile from the University Park Campus and there are catered student halls and three student villages, with self catered options nearby.

Required documents

You will need a copy of your passport and/or birth certificate. You will also most likely need a passport sized photo. Some places require a UK based guarantor, although this is not always the case. If you are an international student and therefore do not have one, you may be required to pay more of your rent in advance.
