What is it like to live in New York? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

You can be whoever you want to be in NYC. Whatever you're into, you can find it here. I highly recommend living in NYC, at least, for a while! The City is fast, exciting, takes some time to get used to but once you do, there's no place like it!

What is the student lifestyle like in New York?

I can't speak to that because I'm older and was not a student here.

How much does it cost to live in New York?


Is it difficult to find accommodation in New York? Is there any advice you can give?

Give yourself a LOT of time so you can really find something that suits you.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

FABULOUS food! My favorite food is Italian and there are some incredible Italian restaurants here, as well as, any other food you could want.

What places would you recommend visiting in New York?

Broadway & off Broadway shows, nightclubs, Rockefella Center, Times Square, The Village any and ALL outdoor FREE summer concerts and performances.


Is it good to eat out in New York? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

Absolutely. In my neighborhood on Queens/Bk border one of THE best Italian restaurants I've ever eaten in and NOT too expensive, Antica Trattoria. After the clubs and open 24hrs, Veselka in the Village.

Is the nightlife good in New York? Where is good to go?

YES! Well I'm a Salsa dancer so I can only recommend Latin clubs. TAJ on Mondays for live Salsa bands, Subrosa on Tuesdays, Solas on Wednesdays, Gonzalez Y Gonzalez on Thursdays or Yayo's in Brooklyn, Willie's Steakhouse in The Bronx on Fridays and many others

What advice would you give future students heading to New York?

Try to stay for at least 2 yrs 'cuz it can take the 1st year just to get used to it. Then, you'll really enjoy yourself after that!
