Abracadabra Ice Cream Factory

As a lover of everything sweet and especially ice cream I have to tell you about this special ice cream place I discovered while living for one year in the United States, in Florida. Abracadabra Ice Cream Factory is, as the name says it already, a magical place, where they produce the ice cream in front of your eyes (that is why it is called “factory” as well).

It is situated in Kissimmee downtown, which is a part of Orlando (actually just around the corner from Disney World). It is a small cute house and the owners use a very special concept, that I hadn’t seen before anywhere in the world.  The very special thing about this ice cream is, that it is made with the help of liquid nitrogen. So when you order your ice cream it is just a liquid and then they prepare it in front of your eyes with the nitrogen, which freezes the liquid within seconds. The way they freeze the ice cream is like a little magic show, filling the whole counter with fog. The special show is definitely one of the reasons many people come here, especially children enjoy that “magic”.

The other and of course more important reason is the taste! When you order an ice cream you can choose between tons of different topics: from blueberry, snickers or espresso, over brownies, marshmallows or peanut butter, to oreo, coconut or walnuts, there is really everything you can think of. You can always choose three different topics in one ice cream, which makes every ice cream a personal and individual culinary experience. They also give you some suggestions on mixes like for example “banana split”, with bananas, chocolate and walnuts or “candy bar” with reese’s, snickers and butterfinger.

Either way it is a very yummy experience and an exciting thing to see. And if you’re not the biggest ice cream fan they also serve pizza and cupcakes. So if you are visiting the area of Orlando, a stop at the magical Abracadabra Ice Cream Factory is definitely worth it!
