What is it like to live in Havana? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Havana is peculiar city. Full of life, people and activity, wherever during the day and night. The public transport is not so good but the prices on food and rent are not excessively expensive. The wether is nice..a little hot some times..?

What is the student lifestyle like in Havana?

Students at Havana focus their activities during the day and uses the nights to go clubbing and stuff like that. There are public places where you can study, like libraries and parks. The university of Havana is a popular destiny to either national or foreign students

How much does it cost to live in Havana?

Is not too expensive, but certainly is not cheap either.. the rents are cheaper than in other places.. it id around 30 and 50 usd per day is you will stay short time and for a long time you could get better prices. There are also other exclusive places that can ask up to 100 usd per night. The food is not cheap if you buy in supermarkets and shops..but you can eat in many good places like coffeeshops and restaurants for very good prices. The public transport is cheap but slow and not very good..?‍♂️ But you can also rent taxis and cars

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Havana? Is there any advice you can give?

Is not difficult..Havana us full of places to rent. My advice is if you can stay in friend or family house is much better, you will safe money. If dont, you can easy find a place to rent. There are many offers in websites for tourist and international students. Another advice is that a friend that live in Havana look for an accommodation for you.. He/She will get better prices.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

The food at Havana is delicious. I recommend typical food such as "congris" pork, fried banana. We have also delicious seafood..like shrimp and lobster or crab..? but there are many places where you can eat different types of food. International food is limited to italian, some arabian dishes, and maybe chinese.

What places would you recommend visiting in Havana?

Historical places, old Havana, the Capitol, museums, Vedado downtown and old fortress like Morro Cabaña.

Is it good to eat out in Havana? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

Yes there are many good places. I could recommend Karma located in Vedado, the Cathedral, located also in Vedado, Los Nardos in old Havana, and D Kmino located in Playa, just to say some..

Is the nightlife good in Havana? Where is good to go?

Yes is very active. There are many places, I recommend King Bar, La Esencia, Cafe Cantante, just to mention some of them, but if you go out through Vedado or old Havana at night you will find many places to enter, listen music and have fun

What advice would you give future students heading to Havana?

Havana is a beautiful city, and study in Havana is cheaper in some aspects and expensive in others...the quality of teaching is very good..particularly at university of Havana and the program of study are good. My advice for future students to decide to come to Havana city is to locate a good rent no too expensive around Vedado or old Havana where there are more night life and options of restaurants and places to visit. And also to eat at the rent house or in out, not buy food to cook, which will be more expensive. ?
