Would you recommend the city and the University of Gent to other students?

Definitely!

What is the food like?

Well... the students... nothing special.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Gent?

A lot. Be aware of crooks as well!

How much does it cost to live in Gent?

Accommodation about €300 per month.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

Courses are available. I didn’t apply for them. Language is bit similar to German thus I could understand partly but they have many dialects what makes it more difficult.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Gent from your city?

By plane. Fares are really cheap.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Gent?

Well yeah! Anyone can find here what suits him the most. Party animals as well as hipster philosophers can feel like fish in the water.

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Gent?

I would rather recommend coffees. Café Labath and Take Five Espressobar at first!

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

City is stuffed with culture and sights. Just walk and look around.

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Gent in the future?

Really be careful when looking for your place to stay. There are nice dorms exactly in the city centre, but some private houses can be found as well. And definitely rent a bike!
