Why did you choose to go to Eindhoven, Netherlands?

I wanted to go Holland and I felt that Eindhoven is in good place for travelling. It has it's own airport and you can buy cheap plane tickets to many european country for example Budapest or Prague. Also I had heard that Dutch people in south are more relaxed than in north.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

I get Erasmus grant which is about €300 a month.

What is the student lifestyle like in Eindhoven?

In Holland you really have to study to pass exams and projects so people are pretty motivated to do so. They still party a lot and there are always some big electronic music events going on around the country. In Eindhoven we really don't have any clubs, we have one street full of smaller bars, which is pretty nice.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Eindhoven to other students?

I would recommend Eindhoven to students who want to experience Ducth student life.

What is the food like?

I am not a big fan of Dutch food, but I know many people who are. They eat pretty unhealthy, for example a lot of deep fried food, bread and they have huge choice of sweet stuff in the stores. It is not really bad but sometimes it is hard to find healthier choices.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Eindhoven?

My school (Fontys) organized my room for me for first half a year via Vestide. It was pretty nice, I paid only €280 for a decent room. After half a year I found my room by myself via Kamernet.

How much does it cost to live in Eindhoven?

You can rent a student room for €250-400, depending how picky you are.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

At least Fontys doesn't offer Dutch courses. I have studied it via app Duolingo, which has been great. Dutch is really hard language to study and at least for me the pronunciation is really difficult.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Eindhoven from your city?

Depends where you are going. If you are travelling inside the Netherlands then it is easiest to use bus or train. They have really good train connection in here. If you want to travel to Belgium or Germany, I would recommend to check prices for the busses. If you want to go more far away, then use plane.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Eindhoven?

To Stratum. It is the street full of bars in the city center of Eindhoven.

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Eindhoven?

In Strijp there is this place called Soul Kitchen that I can recommend. It is pretty cheap (9, €5) and the menu changes every week.
