What is it like to live in Cairo? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

well,living in Cairo as the capital of a third country isn't so fancy!
of course it has its merits and demerits but generally living in Cairo as a student isn't so bad as a citizen from the country also depends on the guys you'll hang out with and the university or the institution.

What is the student lifestyle like in Cairo?

He can have such a great time if the guys around him are cool
but as i said before it depends on the which university? which region?
but generally student can enjoy his time of he met cool guys :)

How much does it cost to live in Cairo?

Cairo is so cheap compared to European cities
but it depends on your lifestyle and which region?
your accommodation : shared or studio?
but it won't exceed 4000 L.E.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Cairo? Is there any advice you can give?

No, you can find it easily but if you know a guy or two it will be cheaper.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

There are a lot of good restaurants cheap or expensive but what really you will find in Egypt is :D : Koshary, Molokheyah, Mango 3oweis, Fetir specially with Sogo2 and Gebna Roomy, Roomy Cheese, White Cheese (gebna beida) with Batikh (watermelon), Rice Pudding, Foul Medames w Ta3meya w Betengan Ma2li, Basterma, Basbousa, Kahk, Ghorayeba, Fesikh, Renga, 3esh Baladi, 7amam Ma7shi, Leb Asmar, 2asab and Karkade juice.

What places would you recommend visiting in Cairo?

of course : Giza Pyramids and the Sphinx :D
Egyptian Museum and Khan al khalily

Is it good to eat out in Cairo? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

yeah it's safe but not always
my spots are :

Is the nightlife good in Cairo? Where is good to go?

hmmm it's not as in europe
it sucks but you can visit some good nightclubs in Zamelk and Maadi
you can go to: Cairo Jazz club (197 26th Of July St. Mohandiseen)

don't miss a party in Tamari (Nile City Towers, Floor 3, Corniche El Nil,Downtown, Cairo )

What advice would you give future students headed to Cairo?

:D cairo will be such a great adventure but don't plan to stay more than 6 months
as public transportations are very bad, night life it's not so easy like in europe or any other country!
be careful when you walk alone after 10 pm.
