I'll be studying Business and Marketing related courses :). what are you all looking to do for accomodation? I want to start sorting that out but not sure where/what to choose although from what you are all saying Principe Pio and Moncloa seem good?

I'm looking for accommodation at the moment, but not sure which sort of areas to look at as I've been told it's great to live in the city centre and not to exclude myself to the area around the university. Anyone with any ideas, or accommodation to let, please get in touch with me.

Hi yall...Hola a todos!

My name is Ohi and I'm going to be studying at UCM on the Getafe campus. What I wanted to know is how you lot are going about looking for accomodation. Will you be staying in Madrid in a hostel or something similar and viewing multiple flats/houses or will you be looking online choosing without a viewing? And do you think it is better to live in Getafe or in central Madrid? Oh I also would like to meet other guys that will be at UCM next year! if you have any info about how this is normally done I would appreciate it.

Mi nombre es Ohi y estudiaré a UC3M en Getafe. Lo que queria saber es la mejor manera de buscar alojamiento. Cual es mejor? Quedarme en un hotel o algo semejante y ver muchas differentes pisos o buscar un piso antes de que llegue en Madrid? Tambíen, es mejor vivir en Getafe cerca del campus o en Madrid central. Quiero conocer a otras estudiantes internacionales que estaran a UCM el año proximo, y apreciare cualquier informacion o consejo sobre como manejar que podeis ofrir.

Hello Ohi,

I would say living in the centre of Madrid would be best, I live in Getafe at the moment with my family and it takes about 40 minutes to get from here to the centre of Madrid.  Although it is not that much of a problem as it is well connected with trains, metro and buses.  However I would say to get the full Madrid experience I would recommend living central.  

At the moment I actually work for a company which provides accomodation in Madrid.  The most popular type is shared accomodation or private room in a Spanish family, best for practicing your spanish obv.  There's a website but atm it is down as they are changing the look. If you want send me a private msg and il give you the work email so you can tell me what you're looking for, I'll have a look for you and send you some info.

Hi there,

I'm now an Erasmus student in Berlin from Gran Canaria, but I live and study in Madrid.

My friend Cristina and I just found a great flat there, between the stations Canal and Quevedo (line 2, the red one). It's for 4 people and 1350 €/month (around 340 €/person), which is really cheap for Madrid. The rooms and the bathrooms (2) are quite big.

We still need two more flatmates: a boy and a girl, if possible. In this city, you sign the contract for the flat for one year. We won't be in the flat in August (maybe some days at the end), but we have to start paying that month already. And three more months of deposit (this is usually asked for).

In case someone is interested and/or needs more info, please text me and I'll write back as soon as possible.

Greetings everybody, Im Klaudia and I usually study in Poznań, Poland but I decided Id spend one semester of my final year in Madrid at UAM.

In Poznań I study two Master degrees - Political Science and International Relations and at UAM I will be doing degree in Ciencia Política y Relaciones Internacionales at Ori Derecho.

Im coming for a winter semester, very excited. If anyone can give me some tips, where can I find a nice flat somewhere perhaps between the campus and city centre, I would be very happy.

I am sorry for posting this message here, but I want to have more chances for it to be seen by someone.

"We are two young Aegee-Bucuresti ( a non-profit organization ) people, Anny and Marius, who are going on their first trip together and, so we need a favour from you. We are not causing problems or messing up with any kind of people, we come to have a very good time in Madrid, to know other cultures and people, make some Spanish friends and visit beautiful places.
We were wondering, can you host two kind, smart and funny persons, one of them is me of course :D or, can you find someone who is willing to do it for us? We want so badly to visit your beautiful city Madrid and that's the reason we are writing you now.  Our bus is leaving on 3rd and we choose to spend 2 days in Madrid, interested in getting to know some Aegee-Madrid people and, of course, other people who would like to join us.
We planned our trip to Madrid from 1st of August till 3rd of August, when our bus is leaving. 
So, we need accommodation for 2 nights. What do you say? Can you do this for us? Your act of goodwill and interest will not go unrewarded. We have a traditional drink for that person who can host us, jeje. :) We don't have much money to spend.
We are looking forward to visiting your city and meeting you, personally, I've been waiting for this experience since I was 15 years old. "

Hey guys!

My name is Tobias, I'm from Berlin, Germany and I'll be studying at UCM from sept 2012 until march 2013. I just received the acceptance from the uni, so I couldn't start looking for an apartement earlier. I hope I'm not too late now. I'd like to share a flat with some spanish and some erasmus students. A friend of mine told me to have a look at the districts Moncloa, Guzmán el Bueno Princesa and Arguelles since they are close to the UCM and are said to be quite nice. Well... if any of you got some hints for me or (even better) still need roommate, let me know ;) We could skype some time or something like that. I'm quite laid back, trying to have a good time and of course I'm used to living in a shared flat...

Hi everybody! We are renting a room! We are 2 boys and a girl! We are interested in erasmus people, cause im erasmus at the moment and we want to continue practicing english or learning other languages in order to making big parties. The apartment is in "alto de extremadura", well conected to UCM/UPM (5 metro stops), COMILLAS (3 metro stops), and the city center (5 or 10 minutes by bus). The rent is 250 euros.
