Hi, I'm Mattias and I'll also be studying in Jaen the coming semester, probably gonna arrive in Jaen around end of August or beggining of September. Alike most of you, I'm also looking for accomodation for six months, preferably a shared flat, anyone got some ideas? Also, I haven't really done thorough research on Jaen, so if anyone has some thoughts on where's the best area to live in Jaen ( nearby the Universidad or some other area ?) or whether it's better to book a flat before arriving or is it better to find a place once you're already there, your wisdom is much appreciated :). I have a flat to rent, is in the city centre, you can go to the university by bus or tram (tram is pending) in 10 min. Is next to all shops, supermarket and many others things in the city centre. The flat is perfect fot 2, but we have some more flats available in the same building. If you come before 26 september, I can help you in english (i will go on 26)
The flat is fully furnished, bed, tables, kitchen etc.
price: arround 400€ plus your electric consumption.

Does anyone know which is the best option to get from Barcelona (Girona) to Jaen, by train or bus? Also, should I arrive to Jaen sooner in order to find better rooms in shared flats or will there be plenty to choose from once the semester begins?

Se alquila piso de 3 dormitorios a estudiantes.
El precio del piso es de 450€, es decir, 150€ por persona (facturas no incluidas).
El piso se encuentra en Ronda de los Derechos Humanos (antigua Ronda del Alcalde García Segovia), a 5-10 minutos andando de la universidad.
El piso tiene cocina equipada, lavadora, microondas, horno, salón grandísimo con 3 sofás y 2 sillones, TV, baño completo, 3 habitaciones individuales con cama, armario, mesa y silla de estudio...
En el barrio hay tiendas, farmacia, centro de salud... Hay paradas de autobús justo al lado del piso para ir al centro de la ciudad, centro comercial y Avda de Andalucía.

The neighborgood has shops, farmacy, outpatient department… There are bus stops in front of the flat to go the the city center, mall and Andalucía Avenue.

Il prezzo dell’appartamento è di 450€, cioè 150€ per persona al mese (spese non incluse).
L’appartamento è in Ronda de los Derechos Humanos (prima si chiamava Ronda del Alcalde García Segovia), 5-10 minuti a piede dell’università.
L’appartamento ha cucina equipata, lavatrice, microonde, forno, soggiorno grandissimo con tre divani e due poltrone, TV, bagno, 3 camere singole con leto, armadio, tavolo e sedia di studio…
Nel quartiere ci sono negozi, farmacia, ambulatorio… C’è fermata dell’autobus accanto l’appartamento per andaré al centro della città, al centro commerciale e Avenida de Andalucía.

I am going to be in Jaen for the 2012-13 school year. I am in Seville until about the middle of September but hoping to get into Jaen this week to look for a place. Do you know others looking for a place too? I have not had any luck with idealista or piso search sites. If you have any tips//contacts, I'd love to hear from you. I am excited about the year but getting a little nervous about the apartment situation. Looking forward to hearing back from you and anyone else out there who will be in Jaen and needs a roommate. I'm also anxious to meet others who will be teaching in Jaen.

I just emailed Monica as well and. like you, I am going to be in Jaen for the 2012-13 school year. I am going to try to get into Jaen this week, September 3-10 sometime to look for an apartment. I have not had any luck with idealista or piso search sites. Have you found a roommate yet or are you still looking? Do you know where you would like to live? I will be working at a school that is about a half hour walk from the University but don't know yet what neighborhood I would like to live in. Perhaps we could meet up if you haven't found a palce yet. I am excited about the year but getting a little nervous about the apartment situation. Looking forward to hearing back from you and anyone else out there who will be in Jaen and needs a roommate. I'm also anxious to meet others who will be teaching in Jaen.

I haven't found an accommodation yet...I'm still looking for it. Monica mailed me and proposed some offert but I'm waiting for some concrets. I'm coming to Jaen 17th of September and I hope till this time I'll find some flat;D I'm excited about spending the all year in Jaen too. I hope that it will be a fruitful year! It's a good option to meet up we should make an appointment specifically. Write me back, greetings!;)
