What is it like to live in Warsaw? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Living in Warsaw is an exciting experience. The city is full of events, possibilities and people. Finding out new places or friends can be adventure for a long time.

City is quite big and crowded, so it could be a little bit noisy, but thanks to the fact it is so interesting.

I wouldn't recommend Warsaw for people who needs quiet and peace - maybe living in the suburbs would be better.

City is very well communicate, there is two lines of metro, trams, buses, city railway.

What is the student lifestyle like in Warsaw?

There are a lots of attractions for students in Warsaw. All universities are organizing many events for students. Student life can be really colorful here. You can choose from spending time in active way (lots of bike lines, parks, courts, sport clubs) or for less sporty people - spending some time in pubs or clubs.

Getting know our city could be a great adventure for every student :)

How much does it cost to live in Warsaw?

The cost to live in Warsaw might be a bit expensive. The most expensive are renting flats. When you give up every day eating at the restaurants and decide to cook by yourself, you will save some money - buying products in the markets is cheaper.

What is more you can use public transport (you can get everywhere) - the best option is to buy ticket for one or three months.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Warsaw? Is there any advice you can give?

There is a range of websites, which are specialized in renting flats.

There is also lots of Facebook's groups (for example Mieszkaj dobrze Warszawo), where you can find many offers about renting or sharing flats.

The other option is to live in dormitory (students house), which would be cheaper than renting a flat.

While looking for some place to live, the best idea is to find contact to homeowner, not with agency, because after mediation you would have to pay commission.

For foreign students I would recommend to ask for help some Polish student or friend, who may help with dealing with agreement.

Renting a room costs about 700-900 zlotych. Renting whole flat depends on how big is it - 3 bedroom flat costs about 2500 zlotych.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

Warsaw is the capital city so there is no only polish dishes. There are restaurants with food from all over the world. But while being in Poland you have to try our specialty of the house - pierogi. Polish food is really tasty, so I recommend you to try everything you can.

What places would you recommend visiting in Warsaw?

There are lots of places you should visit during your stay in Warsaw. I think one of the most popular at the moment is the Copernicus Science Center, where you can see very interesting physics experiments showing in real live. There is a lots of attractions for younger and older people.

The next important place on Warsaw's map is the Palace of Culture. Being on the highest floor you can see the beauty of Warsaw's view.

Obviously you cannot forget about history of this city. The best way to find out more about it is visiting The Warsaw Rising Museum, where you could increase recognition of national heroes, who fought and died for independent Poland.

If you want to see more interesting places you should also visit the National Museum, the Old Town, the Royal Castle, the Royal Łazienki - summer residence od King Stanislaw August, Palace on the Isle.

What is more there are lots of theaters, museums, galleries of arts, parks, paths down the Vistula river to have a lovely walk.

Is it good to eat out in Warsaw? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

Warsaw is full of great restaurants, tapas bars, cafes. To be honest you can find something for you at every street.

My favourite street with wide range of restaurants is called French (Francuska) Street - choosing one place can be really difficult; )

Is the nightlife good in Warsaw? Where is good to go?

The nightlife in Warsaw is varied. There are a lots of night clubs with all kinds of music. Everyone can find something for himself. You can choose between drink bars, students or beer pubs, restaurants or cafes.

Furthermore, very popular in Warsaw are places by Vistula river - open clubs and pubs. When the weather is good, this is the most common place on Warsaw's map at evening or night.

What advice would you give future students heading to Warsaw?

I would say that you should use your time as much as you can to get know Warsaw. Buy map, search in the internet, ask other people to find some places, which would be interesting for you. Don't be shy talking to people in Poland, because we are very friendly and helpful ( I hope you will met only people like that; ) ). So my advice - have fun, sightsee, eat and relax.
