Why did you choose to go to Warsaw, Poland?

My friends recommended warsaw as a great city with reasonable lubing costs.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

I am staying in warsaw for 5 months. I recieve 450€ a month from erasmus.

What is the student lifestyle like in Warsaw?

As a student you can do a ton of activities linked with partying, visiting culture events in opera or in a number of theaters scattered across town.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Warsaw to other students?

I would recommend to students who want to experience a contrast to western european lifestyle and tradition.

What is the food like?

There is a wide variety of cuisines from the whole globe. You have traditional polish restaurants with pierogi and zurek, but also restaurants offering italian,balkan,japanese and the multicorporations as Mac,Sub,BK and lots of kebab:-)

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Warsaw?

The best way to find accommodation is polish web sites like gumtrer.pl, or olx.pl , and for me i just met with the landlord so i didn't need to contact a realestate agent, but thats an individual decision.

How much does it cost to live in Warsaw?

Living cost depend on your individual lifestyle, but u can be pretty comfortable with about 600-800 €/month.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

Polish is not the easiest of languages so it helps if u join some tandem courses provided by universities.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Warsaw from your city?

From Ljubljana the the most economical way is by train from villach for 40€ but if u r short on time plane is a better devision.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Warsaw?

I think a lot of people would agree that just go to Nowy Swiat to Pawilony, where you can try countless vodka in indefenet nr. Of bars or if u wanna go clubbing just wisit mazowiecka street.

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Warsaw?

There is a place on Marszalkowska. A great brazilian place that i would recommend particulary for meat and caprinha lovers.

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

Well u have to go and take a look at Warsaw from palace of culture and science, if u like green and a bit of quiet go to łazienki park(in spring they have classical music concerts there), also a must is warsaw uprising museum and recently opened museums of Jews and also have a walk through Stare Miasto(old town).

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Warsaw in the future?

Don't drink too much vodka and be open for new adventures.
