What is it like to live in Vilnius? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

All Erasmus in here always say that this city is quiet silent. It's pretty cosy, the architecture of old town is beautiful and despite that city isn't too big but you always can do something. I live in Vilnius so it is difficult to decide would I recommend it or not. But if I were a student from abroad, I would like to visit Vilnius.

What is the student lifestyle like in Vilnius?

Speaking about studies, it is really quite easy to study here for Erasmus students. So they always have plenty of time to go somewhere (for a trip, etc. ). Fridays and Saturdays, for sure, party time. But here you can go out to a pub or bar every day (they always are open).

How much does it cost to live in Vilnius?

If you have 300 euros per month - it is enough. Ticket for a transport costs (for students with student (ISIC) card) 5. 79 euros per month. Accommodation you can find about 140 euros per month. And food - it depends on you, but students always say that 300 euros for everything is really enough.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Vilnius? Is there any advice you can give?

All universities always suggest dormitories. My advice - choose it! Because it is the easiest way always be in contact with everybody and to have fun. :)

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

typical dishes of the city are cepelinai, kibinai, sakotis (sakotis is a sweet thing). And another food is like everywhere in the world.

What places would you recommend visiting in Vilnius?

All places in old town (Three Crosses, The Gedimina's hill and castle, The Town hall). Akropolis, Ozas - shopping malls. Puckoriu parkas - national park.

Also, visit Trakai - another historical city. And cities near Baltic sea (doesn't matter which- Klaipeda, Palanga, Nida). Important is the sea! :)

Is the nightlife good in Vilnius? Where is good to go?

Different bars... But for the first time go to the places full of foreign students: Universiteto PUB, Salento (night club), Cocain (night club).

Exit, Pantera, Mojo - good clubs with lots of Lithuanian

people.
