Fun Things To Do and See in Tucson!

Published by flag-us Lauren Armstrong — 4 years ago

The Catalina Foothills

It's an affluent area located north of Tucson, Arizona. This community includes nice restaurants, shops, and many houses. The Catalina Foothills is considered the highest-end area in Tucson.

Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum

I really enjoyed this museum because you can learn so much about Arizona and its history. It also highlights everything about Arizona and its wildlife. At this museum, there are always different exhibitions going on. So, hopefully, you will be there at the right time and you will be able to watch some of them.

Mission San Xavier del Bac

It's an old Spanish Catholic mission which is absolutely beautiful. The architecture is impressive both in the inside and the outside. I adore this place because I love Spanish architecture. Moreover, it's amazing to learn about the mission and its history, as well as to understand why it's placed in Arizona and its importance to Tucson.

Old Tucson Studios

It's a movie studio and theme park. It looks just like a scene from a Wild West movie. You can enjoy an entire day there, experiencing the shows and eating like in the old western times. They also offer train rides.

Reid Park Zoo

It's a great zoo to visit. It's located near the University of Arizona and it's very easy to find. I like this zoo because it has a lot of great attractions, like elephants, giraffes, and tigers. There are also lots of safari and desert animals. I also really enjoyed this zoo because it's not too huge and you don’t feel like you are lost; it's very homely. There are a lot of great animals and exhibits to see. Fun is guaranteed for all ages!

Mount Lemmon

It's a great place for hiking and enjoying the outdoors (you can even camp out). Mount Lemmon is the highest point in the Santa Catalina Mountains. The higher you climb, the colder you will feel. I liked going on day trips and hiking at this mountain. There is also an amazing restaurant, where you can get large slices of mouth-watering pizza and big cookies.

Pima Air & Space Museum

It's a huge museum that hosts a variety of exhibits. My favorite is the "Boneyard" Tour, where you can see different types of planes that were used during World War I and II. It's interesting to listen to all the fascinating stories and history of this aircraft. I recommend you to visit the museum because it's fun and it offers a completely different experience. There are not many aerospace museums around the world, and the Pima Air & Space Museum is one of the best!

The University of Arizona's Games Room

If you have a chance to go to the University of Arizona, I encourage you to attend the Games Room, where you will watch many sports matches, like basketball, football, baseball or softball. These games are so fun and all the teams are really good. Football and basketball's Games are my favorite.

The atmosphere is crazy and there are so many people you wouldn’t believe it! Also, there are always traffic jams before most of the Games, because people from all over Tucson, the rest of Arizona and the whole country go to watch them. When the University of Arizona holds a home game, the school and bars are very packed.
