What is it like to live in Tilburg? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Friendly people, good atmosphere.

I would recommend the city, although it hasn't got any nice scenery and architecture. The atmosphere is good and the size of the city is perfect. Everything is nearby so travel by bike.

What is the student lifestyle like in Tilburg?

Student parties can be found anywhere. Many shared student houses where people eat and drink together.

How much does it cost to live in Tilburg?

280-350 euros for a normal single room in a student house.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Tilburg? Is there any advice you can give?

It's not really difficult. Use the Facebook page: "woonruimte gezocht/aangeboden in Tilburg". This is a big community where lots of accomodations are posted.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

Not a lot of typical Dutch food. although you should try some "bitterballen" when you're here. Also try "schrobbelér", it's a typical liquor from Tilburg.

What places would you recommend visiting in Tilburg?

Go to the Abbey of "koningshoeven" where the La Trappe beers are manufactured. Its just out of Tilburg and you can take a tour through the monastery and brewery and taste some beers there.

Is it good to eat out in Tilburg? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

Low cost Italian dinner found at "Happy Italy". It's an Italian restaurant, very popular among students, you can eat pizza or pasta there for a good price.

Is the nightlife good in Tilburg? Where is good to go?

Great nightlife. There are only few small clubs in Tilburg, but don't go there. Just visit the bars on "korte heuvel", like Café Philip, Polly Magoo and Studio.

What advice would you give future students heading to Tilburg?

Check out the ESN in Tilburg and join them. They organize lots of stuff for international students. Its really fun.
