What is it like to live in Sofia? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Yes, I would recommend the city. It is quite open to foreigners. It really depends on which part in the city you live in, I would recommend the center and the neighbourhoods close to the center.
There are many different things you can do. The four seasons make it possible to go skiing near Sofia (20 min by car) in the winter and to stay all night in the parks in the hot summer days.

What is the student lifestyle like in Sofia?

There are many universities so there are quite a lot students as well. Most of them are from Bulgaria but almost everyone speaks English. The student lifestyle is usually a constant party no matter what day of the week. There are cafes, discos, bars for almost every different taste and there are more and more cultural events that can be visited. Shops, restaurants, bars are open 24/7.

How much does it cost to live in Sofia?

the minimum is about 350 EUR including all expenses
rent - depends on the location - about at least 100 EUR
a card for one month for the transport - 25 EUR
a usual lunch/dinner in a reastaurant - up to 10 EUR

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Sofia? Is there any advice you can give?

It is not that difficult compared to other European capitals.

The food is among the best in the world :)
The fruits and vegetables do have taste!
Of course there are fast food chains, but as a whole the quality in the supermarkets and the reastaurants is quite good!

Is the nightlife good in Sofia? Where is good to go?

Mainly in clubs in the center of the city.
