What is it like to live in Rome? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Rome is a really cahotic city. Full of traffic jam and the big amount of people that live there, but it a welcoming city, warm and full of amazing places to see and live. There are many young people and foreigners, so the italian culture here is very strong, but you can find many other cultures too.

What is the student lifestyle like in Rome?

There are many parties made for students and it's full of foreign young people, so it's easy to make new friendships.

How much does it cost to live in Rome?

It's not that cheap, rent a room it's 300-400 euros monthly in most of places, but buying every day things is quite cheap, the most expensive thing is the house.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Rome? Is there any advice you can give?

No it's not so difficult, but you should always pay attention to how much is the university far from the house you would like to go to, because Rome has just three metro lines (actually two because one has just been opened, still doesn't work properly) so sometimes it's not that easy and fast to get somewhere. Moreover there are many buses but every time there's a lot of traffic so it's not always convenient.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

Amazing! Obviously I love it and you can find any kind of food, from all over the world. It's not that expensive and it's delicious.

Pasta and pizza are my favourite dishes but you can eat good and healthy food too.

What places would you recommend visiting in Rome?

The centre, such as Colosseum, I Fori Imperiali, Piazza di Spagna, Piazza Navona, which are all in the centre, but I also recommend many places such as Campo di Fiori and Trilussa, where all the young people go to cheer a lot.

Is it good to eat out in Rome? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

Actually when I go out for dinner or lunch I use to go in a pizzeria, because it's the cheapest place where to eat (but not to the centre, where most of time it's too expensive and not that good).

Is the nightlife good in Rome? Where is good to go?

There is a neighbourhood called Testaccio which is not far from the centre where you can find many good discos. Then the centre is the place where all the young people go to cheer (to Piazza Trilussa and Campo di Fiori).

What advice would you give future students heading to Rome?

Live everything there is to live in Rome. It's a city full of history and culture, full of surprises... I still haven't see so many things! Italian people are easy going, probably they won't speak a good English but you will see the way in which we can express ourselves by using our hands. Pay always attention to robbers.
