Why did you choose to go to Rome, Italy?

As i study classics and Roman History and archaeology is my specializing field.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

seven months,I only got tuition scholarship

What is the student lifestyle like in Rome?

very relaxed, environment though not the cleanest and drivers are chaotic, but plenty of sites to visit and museums are amazing, if you have a letter from the institution they let you in free for a majority of the sites. Good library's and plenty of great places to hang out, if you have the money that is.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Rome to other students?

yes of course

What is the food like?

very good, being a vegetarian I felt spoilt for choice, which has rarely happened elsewhere.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Rome?

yes

How much does it cost to live in Rome?

depends on the area, some neighborhoods more than others. I lived in Monterverde, there typically within the 500 range per month

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

yes

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Rome from your city?

by bus or tram

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Rome?

enough and more places it is very difficult to narrow down a few choices, but depends on what your looking for. Trastervere has some great places to eat and drink.

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Rome?

too many and cant remember some of them, the apertivio is a good deal, where you pay from around 6-10 euro's for drinks and you get an open buffet. Available in most cafes and restaurants.

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

too many ,historical and religious sites as well as the beautiful archeitecture, the city it self is one big monument I feel. SO much history at every turn.

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Rome in the future?

when getting accomodation always make sure you go see the place, I have had a terrible experience where I ppaid online and the place where I went to was nothing like the picture. Some landlords take the deposit and hold it as a ransom. So be careful with who you part your money with, and always arrange a way yo see the place before paying any deposit or rent. be careful of the traffic, the drivers are manic most of the time. And always check your balances, I lost over 20 euros just because I was too lazy to check my balances at times, as every cent counts when your student.
