Why did you choose to go to Rome, Italy?

Because I've always wanted to go to Rome. I love Italy, its culture, the language, the food and the people, especially the people

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

My scholarship was for 5 months and I received about 2500 euros

What is the student lifestyle like in Rome?

Rome is full of foreign students so you will soon find someone of your nationality, even so I recommend you try to mingle with the locals. You will have time to do everything: travelling, partying, studying...

Would you recommend the city and the University of Rome to other students?

Definitely. Rome is the perfect city. It has much to offer. A beautiful city full of culture, historic monuments, museums, a pulsating nightlife and good weather (except in summer, too much hot in my opinión)

What is the food like?

Great, If you like pasta and pizza. Most of the restaurants, trattorias, tavola calda, etc serve this type of food but, of course, you can find anything you want in the supermarket

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Rome?

It was quite easy for me. I made it through the Facebook site of my host university

How much does it cost to live in Rome?

your monthly budget, depending on where you live, should ranges between 600 and 1000€

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

Italian was not difficult to me as I speak spanish. Both are very similar. Anyway, your university will likely have italian lessons for beginners but i recommend you to give some lessons before you arrive there

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Rome from your city?

By plane

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Rome?

There are a lot of interesting places you can go but if you are a student I highly recommend San Lorenzo quartiere which is the students neighbourhood and is located very close La Sapienza and Termini (one of the main train stations in Rome)

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Rome?

I especially remember the Da Tonino trattoria near Piazza Navona. It's an economic restaurant, no major frills in terms of appearance but very welcoming, and where they serve homemade dishes with a very authentic Italian flavor.

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

What impressed me most was the Pantheon but you can visit also the Colosseum, the Trevi Fountain, the Roman Forum, the Vatican, Piazza Navona, countless churches ... one of the best things about Rome is that never ceases to amaze, always discover ruins have not seen before, stunning Roman walls, etc.

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Rome in the future?

Just enjoy one of the most beautiful cities in the world if not the most
