It's quiet expensive: metro's ticket is 1.50€.
The food's price depends from place to place ( pasta: 7-15€)

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Milan? Is there any advice you can give?

You can looking for an accommodation with agency or you can find some advertisement on univerity's wall

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

Italian food is very famous in all the world!
You have to try pizza (margherita) and pasta (arrabbiata:very spicy)

Is it good to eat out in Milan? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

Yes but near Duomo it's expensive (but you have to try panzerotto to Luini's place)
You can stay near university.

Nightlife is good in Navigli, colonne di san Lorenzo
