Why did you choose to go to Milan, Italy?

Because I was starting a new career in fashion and I wanted to do that in the fashion capital of the world.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

I did not recieve a scholarship. I paid for everything out of pocket.

What is the student lifestyle like in Milan?

It can be fun as long as you have enough money to enjoy yourself.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Milan to other students?

No. I would recomend Paris especially if you are African Amercian like me you will have a much more welcoming and enjoyable experience.

What is the food like?

Meat is very expensive, there are open air markets in the streets that offer inexpensive veggies and fruit.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Milan?

Yes.

How much does it cost to live in Milan?

Around 700 euro per month minimum.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

Non it is not easy. And Domus/NABA offer classes but they are quite expensive.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Milan from your city?

Use Skyscanner website for plane tickets. It maybe cheaper to fly into Russia and from there to Milan.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Milan?

Most vars have aperitivo which means you pay 10 euro get a drink and all the food you can eat. There is a club called old fashoned that is nice.

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

Duomo.

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Milan in the future?

Learn the language before you go. And if you are African American really think about Paris instead it would more than likely be a better experience for you.
