I was going to ask for a dormitory also, but they told me the rooms are quite small (and not very clean) and shared bathrooms..I did not check myself so I can't really judge..but maybe it'll be better to share a flat?

I find it very frustrating that you cannot grasp the idea of a non-native speaker of English for this position, without even going through a basic interview just to get the idea of that person's English skills - if that's what truely makes the difference.
