What is it like to live in Lisbon? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

It is amazing to live in Lisbon. You should take the most out of the good weather and the beaches. I would totally recommend you to try a surf lesson if you have never done it before. Most people fall in love by it.

What is the student lifestyle like in Lisbon?

The portuguese education system is very strict, so we have to study a lot. Although during non examination period we have an active night life at clubs, bars, restaurants, movies, concerts and all of that.

How much does it cost to live in Lisbon?

It is not an expensive city for sure. You just have to check the prices before you go to a restaurant or so. Because of course fancy restaurants are expensive, and if you go there by chance you will spend a good quantity of money. A bus ticket is 1,80€ when bought in the transport and 1,40€ if you buy a VIVA CARD (I would strongly recommend it) and lasts for one hour of traveling in different transports within the same ticket. Expresso coffee is 0,5€ and really common in our culture.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Lisbon? Is there any advice you can give?

It not hard for sure. Go to booking and you´ll find plenty of different choices.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

It´s gorgeous. You MUST try "pastéis de belém" (a pastry). There are several typical dishes that almost every restaurant can recommend you if you ask for help. We have Hard Rock for music fans, but I would suggest Mercado da Ribeira next to the river or a dinner at "Docas" or next to the ocean.

What places would you recommend visiting in Lisbon?

-Lisbon :Mosteiro dos Jerónimos, Cristo Rei, Castelo de São Jorge, Museu da eletricidade, Torre de Belém... GOOGLE THEM!
-Sintra: Quinta da Regaleira, queijadas de Sintra, Palácio da Pena e Palácio dos Mouros;
-Cascais: marina and city itself, beaches.

Is it good to eat out in Lisbon? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

Absolutely. Portvgalia (steak and beer), Lisboa Tu e Eu (in alfama), Churrasqueira da paz (typical) and Mercado da Ribeira, a market with all different options in the city center.

Is the nightlife good in Lisbon? Where is good to go?

Yes! Bairro Alto! Disco: Urban Beach or Lux.

What advice would you give future students heading to Lisbon?

Take the most out of it!!
