What is it like to live in Lisbon? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Lisbon, as the capital of Portugal, is very beautiful and lovely. There is always a party you can attend, some places to visit and you can get anywhere easily by metro or bus. If you have the spare time and will, make sure you visit Cascais, around 30 Km away from Lisbon, is a very pretty place to visit and enjoy by the sea with a great atmosphere!

What is the student lifestyle like in Lisbon?

Party every Thursday, Friday and Saturday ahahah. There is a whole neighbourhood called "Bairro Alto", where you have lots and lots of bars and crazy nights with a bunch of people walking around the streets just having a good time.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Lisbon? Is there any advice you can give?

It's not hard if you are willing to share a flat with other students or if you stay at a student house.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

You have all types of food all around, but Portuguese cuisine I would say is very good, like most Mediterranean cuisines are, very flavoured dishes.

What places would you recommend visiting in Lisbon?

Everywhere, there are castles and a bunch of other traditional and cultural places you can visit. There are some museums too if you're interested. "Belém" is one of the places you must go to, or at least to a shop there with a traditional dessert called "Pastel de Belém" that is to die for! "Parque das Nações" is also a good choice if you want to have a walk, or run, by the river, there you also have the aquarium that is great!

Is it good to eat out in Lisbon? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

Yes, although it can be a bit pricey. "Hamburgueria do Bairro" is a great place to eat burgers, "Dicasa" is a very good place to enjoy Italian cuisine, so is "Capricciosa", but you can find restaurants in every corner ahah.

What advice would you give future students heading to Lisbon?

Try to find out in advance where you want to go, because there is a lot to see and experience. Get along with other people and most important of all, have FUN and ENJOY!
