Why did you choose to go to Lisbon, Portugal?

Because I would like to live in this city and because it was possible to stay here in Erasmus for ten months.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

The scholarship is 10 months-long and the European Union gives me 230 euro per month.

What is the student lifestyle like in Lisbon?

Going to classes, eating out with friends, going out in the evening in Bairro and Cais, moving around Lisbon surfing and visiting some places and cities nearby.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Lisbon to other students?

Yes, of course. The lifestyle is cheap, healthy and it's easy to fall in love with Lisbon.

What is the food like?

It's really good with a lot of different kind of dishes. You can find a lot of meat and fish with potatoes with a typical soup as a starter. The center is full of "pastalaria" really good and tasty.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Lisbon?

When I arrived here I didn't have an accommodation yet and it took me 2 weeks to find one where I would stay for the first semester, then I moved in an other apartment in the second one.

How much does it cost to live in Lisbon?

400-500 euro per month.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

Yes, it's full of Language courses that you can do and for an Italian student is not so difficult.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Lisbon from your city?

By plane. It takes 3 hours and it costs about 100 euro back and forth.

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Lisbon?

Yes. Santa Rita, O'Eurico, an Asian restaurant in Saldanha, pizzeria Via vai, Rei do Bacalhao in San Sebatiao, Canto da vila in Alfama, Pastel do Fado and many others.

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

All the city center, Rua Augusta, all the miradouros, Cattedrale do Carmo, Gulbenkian and all the Belém and Oriente.
