Why did you choose to go to Lisbon, Portugal?

Because it has similar culture to my country and it is in the coast.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

5 months, 410 euros/month

What is the student lifestyle like in Lisbon?

Great, you can party whenever you want to, there are many things to see in Lisbon and in Portugal, also a lot of organized trips and activities.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Lisbon to other students?

Yes

What is the food like?

Good, tried some of the traditional foods like code fish which i don't like in my country but here i love it.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Lisbon?

No, my friend was here 2 years ago so now i am staying in her old room.

How much does it cost to live in Lisbon?

Living costs, transportation and food (if you are mostly cooking at home) are 400-500 euros per month, and then if you want to go out and drink and go to restaurants/bars/clubs it's another 100-200 euro/month depends on your lifestyle.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

Yes there are available language courses in my University - crash course and the extensive one (whole semester). The language is not that easy but it is not that difficult since I know a little bit of Spanish and it is similar to it. Although the pronunciation is very difficult and don't expect to understand portugese people after just a few months.

by TAP Portugal, direct flight from Zagreb to Lisbon, 145 euros - 2 way ticket

First bairro alto for a few drinks, after to musicbox or somewhere in pink street during the week and during the weekend clubs such as Urban beach, Main, Lux, Lust etc...

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Lisbon?

Illegal chinese is fun to visit, also really cheap

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Lisbon in the future?

First month you will spend a lot of money, it is normal. Go visit portugal, do as many things as you can, enjoy every second of your erasmus, don't invite too many friends to come visit you, it gets frustrating. do your thing, you'll see them when you get back home :D
