In Kaiserslautern, you'll find Campus University. It is situated next to one of the biggest forest areas in Europe. If you want to have a break you can borrow a mountain bike from uni-Sports or hang out in one of the swimming pools or lakes. The cultural offers are often cheaper for students and downtown there are a lot of pubs and places where young people meet. There is every week an event at university(faculty parties, open-air cinema, international and country evenings). There are a lot of city departments just populated by students.
