Studying and living in izmir
Izmir is a very nice city either to study or for an erasmus experience. The prices are good compared to other cities in Turkey. Transportation is cheap and easy. The life of a student is suppported and there many places to just chill and have fun with your friends. I recommend to all students. There is not much to see touristic-wise but there is a nice atmosphere and the people are really kind.
It is really a university city with a lot of cool bars or you can just buy a beer(which is 2 euro in small market) and sit on the grass in alsancak and enjoy the view of the sea and some music. A lot of free concerts and activities. Shopping malls, places to walk etc. Its safe at night and accomodation is much cheaper than for example Istanbul.
Hope you enjoy Izmir I did for 2 years, never got bored!
