Copacabana Graz

Hello all!

Saturday, quality time, trip, chill. I missed water, I missed swimming and sunbathing too. Stretching my muscles under water, diving and lying on the lawn. I missed summer and I missed being lazy lately. And I will miss this the whole year. So I decided to enjoy the last 3 days of summer, packed my things, and went to discover Copacabana, Graz.

From the main Railway Station you have to go only 4 stations with Schnell Bahn 5 (regional train), till Flughafen (airport). Month pass is enough, you don't have to buy extra-ticket. Unfortunately I wasn't precausions enough, because I didn't search the map referring to the Flughafen-Copacabana route, so I walked from the airport to the Complexum approximately 4 kilometres. Still, later I found out, that there are buses, which drop you right in front of Copacabana, and their end stop is at Jakominiplatz, so that should be an easier and shorter journey.

So I walked almost one hour from the airport through villages and deserted streets, and haven't seen any sign of Copacabana. At one moment I was seriously thinking about giving up, but thanks to the helpful Austrian foreigners I asked about the directions, I finally found the way by seeing the following statue:

Copacabana is situated right near the freeway, and it's quite noisy because of the passing autos. The departing airplanes also make a din, but this is the only negative point of the place. I got used to the noise of the trafic, my ears accommodated to the circumstances, and it didn't bother me anymore.

The beautiful view compensated as well.

When I saw this panorama, the following words came to my mind: sunshine, riviera, seaside, ocean breeze, sunny beach, sunkiss, waves, holiday. The residents of Graz are enormously lucky. I knew that Austria is full of beautiful natural lakes like the Green Lake, Black Lake, Zell Lake, Thal Lake, but Copacabana is more than a lake. It's the seaside and the beach itself. Gravel beach, crystal clear water, cosy causeway, elegant restaurants and bars. Swimming with goldfishes, sunbathing near the ducks, attending diving lessons, or just simply playing beach volley with friends.

Copacabana can be only loved! It's modern and stylish, but also peaceful and pure. It's exotic and authentic at the same time.

P. S. Sorry for the quality of the pictures, I'm not a professional photographer.
