Ettiene

I am an expiate from Los Angeles, California currently living in Frankfurt am Main; seeking accommodations for living so I may return to college to finish my degree in Agriculture & Water Management.

I had first visited Germany as an Exchange Student through the American Field Service in 1981. In October of 2013, I had returned touring the country visiting the cities of Frankfurt am Main, Köln, Hamburg & Berlin. Once I had returned back to the United States, I had made the decision to finish my schooling in Germany. I am about 50% fluent in the German language and expect to be at 80% by spring of 2017. There are still a few classes that I must take before entering the University by the summer. The most important is ‘German’ language. This is why a made my trip early to become fluent.

I am 53 years old and am often citizen, for a lack of better words, of not acting my age. What I mean by this is that I am a free spirited person who looks for the good in everyone, young and old male or female and practice being ‘non-judgmental’ of others on a daily basis, which most my age may find it difficult to do. I believe it is important to stay active, playing sports like tennis, golf and basketball which keeps me fit.

Eventually, I will have an apartment as I have been married for 21 years in that my wife will join me once I am settled in my own place. Currently I seek a room for rent between 150 to 300 Euros a month. I will pay for my own meals and any extra living expenses.

I have registered as a resident and expect to have my Work Visa very soon. I have applied with a Temporary Work Agency where I have many ‘transferrable’ skills that range from Corporate Business to Service Worker that require ‘physical labor’.

I want to give back to Germany for giving me the greatest experience that has changed my life and put me on this path that has brought me here today. I also believe that visited or living in a country that is not your homeland, one must ask what can ‘I’ do for the community of that new land where I live and conduct oneself as a ‘good’ guest would in someone’s’ home.

I look forward to discussing my interest’s and my lifetime goals which helps me to broaden my horizon. Please feel free to contact me via email or by phone and hopefully we could arrange a meeting.

Sincerely,

Ettiene Harrington
