Experience in Eötvös Lorand University, Hungary by Zsuzsanna

Generally, what is Eötvös Lorand University like?

I would say ELTE is a modern, well organized Central European University.

What are the facilities like?

ELTE has more faculties, like Faculty of Arts, Faculty of Law, Faculty of Social Science etc.

I can only say about my faculty (Faculty of Arts) that it's really good. But I have other friends from other faculties and they also love it.

What are the tutors like?

Our tutors are well qualified professors, who are really into their subjects. And of course they wish to give all the knowledge of theirs to us. They are always really helpful, we can ask them a lot of questions even when we are not in the class.

Are the lessons easy in Eötvös Lorand University?

No, they are not. Definitely you have to study a lot (especially if you want to be good in your subject), but I think that is the only way people should do their studies.

We usually have to write a lot of assignments and also make presentations, but it's a lot of fun, and those activities help us to experience new things.

Does the University organise activities? If so, what are they like?

Yes, generally ELTE organize sport events, that's sure. Also we have our own small festivals in spring with bands and all these kind of things.

Do you think there is a good quality of teaching?

I believe it is. There are some old fashioned things that our professors should whipe out, but otherwise I think they try their best to raise the quality.

Are there any stories you can share?

Our freshermen's camp was a great experience. I'd recommend it to everybody. Crazy, that's for sure!
