Why did you choose to go to Düsseldorf, Germany?

Because I am a product designer and I wanted to discover how German industrial designers work. So I applied for an internship offer in a design agency and they hired me. Now I am here!

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

I come from France and like I was in apprenticeship I got 2900€ for 5 months.

What is the student lifestyle like in Düsseldorf?

I don't know, at this moment I live alone in my flat and I don't know anybody here (not yet) except my colleagues.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Düsseldorf to other students?

The city is quiet and people are relaxed but rents are expensive if you compare it to other cities in Germany. Public transports are well organised and strolls along the Rhine are very pleasant when it's sunny.

What is the food like?

If you are French, forget the food taste. Now I understand why french food is so appreciated by German people.

But it's ok, I think it's better than many others countries.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Düsseldorf?

I have the chance to have a large budget because my company pay me during my internship. So I live in Airbnb flat large and comfortable. But for a classic student I would say that it's not easy to find an affordable furnished flat here, except if you have already tried to find a flat in Paris...

How much does it cost to live in Düsseldorf?

Accommodation 450€ minimum for a flat and 300€ for a shared flat.

Food if you do your own shopping in Aldi I would say no more than 200€/month

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

I don't know, but I think yes.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Düsseldorf from your city?

Plane from Paris or bus, but it's very long...
