Colmar

First objective was visited Cathedral Saint Martin, located on Grand Rue (street), a street with lots of shops, terraces, restaurants and houses extraordinarily beautiful. It is the greatest museums of Alsace, founded at the beginning of the twentieth century of XIII century. SUFFERED losses 2,901 billion lei, that all the churches may French, to the Revolution in 1789, but many achievements of Gothic medieval architecture. Among them the stained glass was made by famous of naos, altars, a series of chapel, and numerous sculptures and statues. A beauty about central pillars are and what supports church front panel.

In the Cathedral, in addition to the other numerous buildings of the story, I've come across a house built in Gothic style, Maison Adolphe (House Adolf), probably the oldest house in medieval Colmarul century (XIV). A beautiful building with two sculptures lion heads, in the entrance, and with windows in archway, both on the ground floor as well as on the top floor. Another house with an interesting architecture, on Grand Rue, is Ancienne Minoterie dam Douane, a building which housed old customs of the city.

A superb area of the city is the former district of tabacarilor, Petite had come (Low Venetie), with houses of wood and covered with colored tiles. Tangier devious are crossed by small channels that we remember the Venice Italian. Channels are crossed and they in their turn small wooden bridges, and its banks are as though flooded by a lot of flowers. Along the river lauch whisking through the city, and the grooves on the sides can be made romantic walks with the boat.

Turning us on Grand Rue, I have met another peculiarly beautiful house, and beside it the hotel St. Martin with a logo interesting:a warrior on horseback within a circle of cast iron and cathedral spire in the background. On the left, in a small market, is one of the many sculptures with historical figures executed by Auguste Bartholdi.

To the north of old center was another standard house, Maison des Tetes ( House of its princes), one of the best-known and visited buildings in Colmar. Built in the style ancient master on three floors, the building has a beautiful front panel with two balconies closed, and a Foisor decoration at the top of different sculptures.

Other objectives located in this part of the town are Eglise des Dominicains (Church Dominican Republic), founded in the 18th century XIII, and Unterlinden Museum, founded in the 19th-century struggle on the place of another former monasteries Dominican Republic, one of the most important in France. Unfortunately the rain we did visit several objectives of this beautiful city, and pictures, how many I haven't had a chance to do, get out as it should be.

On his visit Colmar city we found out some interesting tune, less known to the general public. For instance, Georges-Charles d'Anthes, the murderer famous Russian poet Alexander Pushkin, in a duel, was born and raised in this part of the world.

In Colmar was born and Charles Xavier Thomas, first PC inventatorului marketing engineer, Aritmetru, and the writer iluminist Voltaire lived a period in this town to write one of his works for money.

All we know that France has given America Statue of Liberty, but there are very few of us know that Frederic-Auguste Bartholdi, author of the famous works of art, it has been born and he spent his childhood in the city. His native house of the master has become Musee Bartholdi where are exposed among other things and his projects for Statue of Liberty. On the occasion of 60th birthday 100 years from the time of removal statue in America has made a copy, 12 meters high, at the outlet of the town, on the way back to Strasbourg.

Vine varieties Furmint and  blanc grown on a large scale in the north-east Hungary, which give excellent wine Tokaj, were imported from these countries with growers' renowned for. Moreover Colmarul may is also called the "wine capital of Alsace.

If you are in the vicinity of north-eastern France and you want to visit this region, please do not hesitate to include in the agenda tourist, this magnificent city.

After Colmar we continue his journey through Alsace, following this time wine road (Route du Vin) with visiting one of the many towns of wine-growing region, Riquewihr. If Mulhouse and Colmar we visited at random, Riquewihrul has been recommended by her niece on the departure of Basel. Unfortunately, the time has not allowed us to visit and other points of interest tourism situated in the north-east France.

Unlike his visit to Colmar, disturbed by a heavy rain, in Riquewihr we were lucky for a while nice and I could browse to step almost all old history center. To arrive in this city (I can say that), I have chosen way through hills planted with vines, a road with a asphalt of good quality which crosses a few wine-growing villages really beautiful.

Located at 12 km from Colmar, Riquewihr is one of the most alluring tourist destinations of Alsaciei. Surrounded by walls strongholds, something like our polled said, the city impressing by special historical architecture, with old houses built in the early centuries XVI and XVII. Spared for the most part on the bombing of the Second World War, the city and kept historical authenticity, the only new construction being those old outside the center located in the southern part.

Surrounded by hills planted with vines, Riquewihrul may is also known for its production of wine, the best-known being Riesling vine variety. In the city are very much wine with different kinds of wine-making, so-called winstub. They are, in particular, in the cellars of old hotels where tourists can HDTVs from different varieties.

As a matter of fact, each village or town along Route du VIN has its own wine growers' and their own. Interesting is the fact that some growers shall collect a fee for that tasting rooms, and others offers this service free of charge. I haven't been able to do so, either in the form of cash or free-of-charge, being at the steering wheel.
