Why did you choose to go to Brussels, Belgium?

Because there was the European Parliament and I wanted to improove my french.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

The scolarship is 6 months. i received 3000 euros

What is the student lifestyle like in Brussels?

I think a normal lifestyle. The lessons start at 8:30/9 and they finish at 13. Then you have a brake and you can have lessons in the afternoon, too.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Brussels to other students?

Yes I would. The city is beautiful and full of things to do and the University is well organised.

What is the food like?

It depends. The tipical dish is "moules frites" and of course french fries (try them in the Place Flagey kiosk). You can also have a sort of french coking.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Brussels?

A little. If you want to stay in the city center or at leat in a place near it, prepare yourself to pay... I stayed at Linkebeek, a little village hut outside Brussels but next to the University. I payed 250 euros per month. One of my friends stayed at uccle and payed 350 euros per month (a room).

How much does it cost to live in Brussels?

Not so much compared to Italy!

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

If you speak a neolatin language, that's quite easy. There are lots of language courses available and lots of people from different countries that offer to help you in exchange of your help in your language!

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Brussels from your city?

From my city that's the plane.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Brussels?

On a night out in brussels I would recommend the Delirium bar, next to the Grande Place!

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Brussels?

Some good restaurants are next to the Delirium, in the city center.

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

The Atomium, the Grande Place, the Museum of the cominc and the European parliament.

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Brussels in the future?

If you can, try to take a room in Ukkle!that's expensive but is going to be near the city center and near the University!
