Belgrade Fortress and Kalemegdan Park

When you are in Belgrade there is one thing that for sure you have to see, that is the Kalemegdan Park with the Fortress. It is located at the mouth of Sava into Danube, therefore even for the view of the city from it is worth a visit.

The park is a huge green area with beautiful trees and peaceful paths that are perfectly suitable for some romantic walks or any other kind of... Often they organize some open-air exhibitions there or concerts during summer.

You can walk not only deep in the park, but also near the walls of the fortress and see the river Sava and check out the bridges of Belgrade from a distance, at least if you are just a bit luckier than us with the weather... You can also look for squirrels as it is not too difficult to find some here.

But if you don't want to stop only at one animal, inside the park there is also the Zoo of Belgrade. Actually i saw only the entrance and didn't get in, so it is a good chance for you to try and write the experience of the Zoo after.

The entrance to the fortress can be done through many gates, there are some small wooden bridges in front of them which used to be removed in case of attacks.

Like in every park and fortress there are several kind of monuments, sculptures, memorials that help you also to discover a bit more about the history of Belgrade (if you find an explanation about them in a language that you understand... ).

Inside the park is also located Military Museum of Belgrade but for a pacifist like me you can simply look some cannons and tanks which are exposed outside without going in.

It is located very close to the city center. If you walk through the most crowded pedestrian street of the city: Kneza Mihaila, you will end up directly at the park. It's very hard to miss it.

Belgrade was amazing city! I liked historical places, nightlife and also the streets of Belgrade. I've met a lot of good people, and both aspects of the city should be seen, Old and New, with the style of buildings, streets. There are a lot of things to see even the Kalemegdan Park and the Tesla Museum, also the river in summertime so enjoyable.
