How much does it cost to live in Athens?

Due to its transportation and near distances Athens will be medium or even low cost city to live in. The key here is to rent a house not exactly in the center of Athens but near it where rents are cheaper. In my personal experience I suggest Koukaki and Kallithea, great places with always things going on to do and cheap rents.

It's not very dificult but you have to keep in mind that there are many different areas in which universities in Athens exist.
