Bull Fighting

Published by flag-us Lauren Armstrong — 7 years ago

I had the chance to go see a bull fight in Alfaro, La Rioja.

Bull fighting is one of the many Spanish traditions. However some areas in Spain like Cataluña do not see this as a tradition and have forbid it in their state. When I arrived the place was beautiful, a very old and traditional Spanish bull fighting plaza. You go inside and sit and people bring food and drinks so that you can eat or drink while watching the bullfighters.

When I went down to the restroom there were bullfighters about to go into the plaza. I had the opportunity to take a picture with one. The bullfighters wear amazing outfits. The outfits range from many different colors, pink, purple, red, or just black and white. They look very elegant in their bull fighting outfits; they have different designs on them with sequins. I couldn’t believe it the bullfighters were very young! Most of them fighting that day were around 18-20 years old.

The inside of the bullfighting ring was very traditional Spain, it was colored red and the back wall was the Spanish flag colors. The plaza is not very big, it is one of the smaller ones because Alfaro is a smaller city in Spain. It was very interesting watching it and how the bulls charge the bullfighter and how he is so smooth and does not look scared at all. It was fun to see and if you do not get squirmish with blood then it is a good tradition to see.
